About the Director

With a Bachelor's in Social Work (BSW), a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (B.S.Ed.), and current enrollment in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program, our director brings both academic knowledge and real-world experience to every family interaction. Her background in early childhood education, human services, and trauma-informed care provides a strong foundation for supporting families through sensitive transitions.

She is passionate about creating a safe, judgment-free space where children can thrive and parents can focus on rebuilding trust and connection. Her approach combines structure, empathy, and professionalism—ensuring every visit is centered on what matters most: the well-being of the child.

When working with families, she takes the time to understand each situation and communicate clearly, offering consistent support from intake to visitation and beyond.

“Our mission is simple: to provide a safe, supportive, and neutral space where families can reconnect with dignity, compassion, and care—one visit at a time.”

-- Fiona K. Coffey, BSW, B.S.Ed., Director

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are your hours of operation?
A: We are open Wednesday through Sunday, with appointments available until 7:30 p.m. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate families’ needs. Monday and Tuesday appointments may be available for emergency visitation or exchange needs, but is not guaranteed.

Q: Do you charge extra for holidays or birthdays?
A: No. We believe every family moment matters, so there are no additional charges for birthdays, holidays, or evening appointments.

Q: Where do visits take place?
A: Visits are held in a safe, neutral, and child-friendly environment. On-Site visits take place in our Sacramento office; this is where the majority of visits and all intake appointments take place. Off-site visits and activities, such as trick-or-treating, attending a sports game, or visiting the zoo, may be available. Off-site visitation is done as discreetly as possible and with dignity. We do so in a way that would appear casual in nature to any passers-by; however will not sacrifice safety or Standard 5.20 practices.

Q: Who supervises the visits?
A: Visits are supervised by a fully licensed provider who has undergone strict background checks, California State approved education and licensing, and regular professional development courses to maintain and surpass all Standard 5.20 requirements. We approach every visit with professionalism, empathy, and a child-centered mindset.

Q: What is required before visits begin?
A: Both parents or guardians must complete a brief intake interview. This helps us understand the family’s needs and ensure a safe, structured visit plan.

Q: Do both parents attend the intake together?
A: No. Each parent/guardian is interviewed separately to ensure everyone can speak freely and comfortably.

Q: How do I schedule an intake or ask more questions?
A: You can call, text, or email us anytime. We’re happy to answer your questions or schedule your intake at a time that works for you.

Q: What should I bring to the first visit?
A: Please bring a photo ID, any relevant court documents, and items your child may need (like snacks, diapers, or comfort items). You're welcome to bring age-appropriate games, books, or toys as long as they meet safety guidelines.

Q: How are visits documented?
A: The visitation supervisor maintains professional notes for each visit, documenting attendance, general observations, and any concerns relevant to the child’s well-being or court orders. These notes may be available to the court or attorneys at any time upon request and in regular intervals, as determined by the court (typically every 4 to 8 weeks).

Q: What measures are in place to ensure safety during visits?
A: Safety is our top priority. We conduct a thorough intake for all parties, maintain secure, monitored visit spaces, and follow protocols that ensure physical and emotional safety for both children and parents. Any safety concerns are documented and addressed immediately.

Q: What methods of payment are accepted?

A: We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover only, at this time), personal checks, money orders, ApplePay, and Venmo. We do not currently accept AmEx.

Q: What if I can't afford to pay for visitation?

A: We offer sliding-scale pricing for qualified individuals and families. Please request an application. Pre-payment discounts may also be available.

Q: Can my family member or friend take part in the visitation too?

A: Only individuals who are included in the most recent order may attend the visitations. If you would like to request additional family members or friends attend visitation for special dates or events, it is recommended you make a formal request to the court with ample time for approval. Off-site visitation may only take place with one visiting parent/party and up to two children; this is to maintain accurate reporting and minimize safety risks.
